Serviced apartments in Kathmandu

A whole furnished flat with its own kitchen and door, for a few nights or a few months.

A serviced apartment is the middle ground between a hotel room and renting a flat: it is furnished and ready, you have your own kitchen and your own front door, and you can take it for a week without signing anything long. For a work posting, a family visit or a stay built around a trek at either end, it is usually both cheaper and more comfortable than a hotel.

What to look for on each listing: whether the power backup covers the whole flat or only the lights, how the water is supplied and stored, and what the internet actually is — these three are what separate a comfortable month in Kathmandu from a frustrating one, and they vary far more between buildings than the photos suggest.

Apartments in the valley cluster by purpose. Jhamsikhel and Sanepa suit anyone who wants to walk to work and to dinner; Lazimpat and Baluwatar sit among the embassies; Bhaisepati trades walkability for space, clean air and a view of the Himalaya on a clear morning.

Common questions

What makes an apartment serviced?

It comes furnished and equipped — bedding, a working kitchen, wifi, water and power arrangements — so you arrive with a suitcase rather than a moving van. Cleaning and linen changes are arranged per property; the listing says what is included.

Can I stay for just a few nights?

Yes. Apartments here are quoted by the night, and many also carry a weekly or monthly rate that works out lower per night for a longer stay.

Is there backup power and water?

Nearly every building in the valley has some arrangement for both, but the extent differs — inverter versus full generator, tanker delivery versus a municipal line. Each listing states what it has, and it is worth asking what the backup covers.

How do I pay?

Payment is arranged directly with us rather than taken on the site. Call or message and we will confirm the dates, the total and how to pay before you travel.
